Future of Security Systems
Security systems continually evolve as technology advances. Security systems may become more and more subtle as technology allows, and owners may utilize more discreet methods to monitor access. With technologies such as biometrics (fingerprint recognition, iris scans, retina scans, graphology/handwriting analysis, hand geometry, etc), heat and pressure sensitivity, and more, will allow areas to become more and more secure with more subtle technologies.
Computers have already revolutionized security systems by allowing for processes to be automated. However, security systems for computers and network have also become standard, and in many cases, necessary. Security systems for computers are protective measures against network intruders (hackers) and protect private information from the public. Virtual computer security systems use passwords and other methods of encoding to protect networks and information. The US government has proposed the construction of a large-scale security system that would prevent illegal aliens from entering the country unlawfully. Consisting of evenly spaced towers comprising a virtual "fence," the towers would be equipped with a high-tech security camera that recognizes human presence. Any detection of a human would be relayed to a security office, where the appropriate manpower could be dispatched to solve the situation. Humans would not be required to monitor any physical spots on the fence itself. This represents a breakthrough in surveillance technology and would pave the way for many security revolutions in stores, homes and offices across the country. |
