Examples of Effective Security Systems
Security systems have been effective in preventing and/or catching many infractions in the past. Here are some examples:
- A thief in the UK was caught on CCTV while trying to steal cameras on a public street. He was subdued and charged with theft with the information given by the cameras. The incriminating footage was taken from the cameras he was attempting to steal. Read more at BBCNews
- Several retail stores in Southern US states have recorded a man on their security systems who has stolen credit cards visibly from multiple retailers. Police and store officials are using the footage in order to subdue and charge the man. Read more at WTVM.com
- The host of a popular theft prevention show in New Zealand was caught stealing a valuable camera with an accomplice in a store. The thief, a reformed shoplifter who supposedly uses her knowledge to help homeowners prevent further theft, was caught, arrested and fined. Read more at The New Zealand Herald
