Uses of Security Products
Security products, whether they be simple or extremely complex, are used in nearly every industry to protect assets, customers and employees. Complying with security products has become a part of everyday life, as well as an integral element to most businesses.
One security product that most people have interacted with is the metal detector. Used commonly at airports, libraries, retail stores and schools, metal detectors are used to screen visitors, passengers, customers and students for dangerous objects like guns and knives.
Used commonly in conjunction with the metal detector in airports is the x-ray machine, which scans belongings and allows security personnel to look inside passenger bags for any prohibited items. This method has become much more stringent in the United States in recent years, with security officials in the Transportation Safety Administration confinscating items such as knitting needles, shampoo, nail scissors, and bottled watter at security checkpoints because of their perceived danger aboard aircraft.
Security cameras are also an extremely common form of security product. As the technology has developed, security cameras have become cheaper and easier to use. These advancements have made security cameras a widespread form of security, used in homes, retail stores, schools, businesses, government buildings, museums, stadiums and event halls and in public spaces to reduce crime, theft and violence. The most popular form of home security is the security system, which usually involves a networked motion detector and sensors. These are strategically placed around a home to alert both homeowners and the security sytem response center in case of emergency. The home security system is incredibly versatile and can be configured to suit the exact needs of a homeowner, whether they want to be notified if a window is broken, or if a door is opened. This kind of customization has been a model for the surveillance industry, which in many cases, is centered around providing customers with a system of security cameras which suits their customer's needs exactly. |
