The Future of the IP Camera
Estimated to soon be a billion-dollar industry, IP cameras and IP camera security systems are quickly becoming the trusted security solution for governments, museums, homeowners, retailers, industrial environments, and more. “Intelligent” video analytics technology such as face-finding, visitor counting, visitor timing, and more will make cameras even more secure.
As IP cameras become more commonplace, security systems will begin to integrate with other integral systems, communicating with HVAC, electrical and other security systems to deliver highly developed security on multiple levels. Many home security systems are already integrated, with motion detectors and sensors integrated in with fire detectors, sprinkler systems, and carbon monoxide detectors and other alarms.
IP cameras, which are already benefiting high-risk environments like industrial areas and shipyards, are becoming increasingly popular in home and small business environments through the use of webcams and other small PC-powered cameras. When hooked up to home computers, these cameras can record activity and transmit it over the web to be viewed at any time. |
