IMS Research study shows Mobotix gaining more of the IP camera market
IP cameras and networked surveillance technology is growing by leaps and bounds - analysts have already projected that IP camera sales will overtake the sales of CCTV cameras by 2011, and already megapixel and network cameras are booming. MOBOTIX, a long time leader in the IP camera market, has been growing along with the popularity of network cameras.
Now, a study performed by research firm IMS Research has determined that MOBOTIX's steady gains have given it a larger chunk of the market share - up 3.7 percent from 2006 to a 16.3% share of the IP camera market - second only to Axis. In the world market, MOBOTIX trails Axis, Sony and Panasonic with a market share of 6.6% of total sales.
Improvements in MOBOTIX cameras, especially the D12 and D22 fixed dome cameras, along with MOBOTIX's improvements in megapixel cameras and video codecs have made MOBOTIX network cameras a high caliber security choice. These technology improvements, along with an ever-growing demand for IP cameras in general, will only grow MOBOTIX's place in the security marketplace.
