GVI and Samsung land bank video surveillance contract
GVI Security Solutions, provider of video surveillance solutions incorporating Samsung's complete security camera product line, will develop surveillance for over 200 bank branches in Peru. The branches are spread out over 26 cities throughout the country.
The comprehensive surveillance solution will include day/night network security cameras, digital video recorders, and video management systems allowing for remote video monitoring, digital archiving, and easy playback and searching. The project is expected to be completed in 2008.
IP surveillance technology is playing a significant role in protecting banks and financial institutions across the globe. Newer IP-based systems allow for secure, wide-spread networking and scalability, while cutting-edge developments such as facial recognition and video analytics are especially applicable to these types of applications. By upgrading their existing surveillance systems to network-based solutions, Peru's banks will be able to take advantage of the benefits that come with this rising technology.
