Arecont Vision unveils industry's first H.264 megapixel network cameras
IP megapixel camera leader Arecont Vision has introduced the industry's first complete line of H.264 network cameras. H.264 is a compression technology that allows for a wide array of resolutions and video formats for a wealth of applications. More effective than conventional MJPEG compression, H.254 is able to stream high-quality megapixel video streams while significantly reducing bandwidth usage. The Arecont Vision H.264 camera line is comprised of 1.3, 2, 3, and 5 megapixel network camera models.
Each of the new H.264 IP network cameras supports multi-streaming, allowing for the transmission of several streams with different frame rates, resolutions, and video formats. The cameras offer video compression of up to 25 times that of Motion JPEG. Images can be scaled to 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 with an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 for a High Definition format. Regions of an image can even be selected and managed independently of one another at different resolutions to control bandwidth. Each selected region is treated as a "virtual camera." The entire field of view can also be streamed with regions of interest delivered at full megapixel resolution.
Other highlights of Arecont Vision's H.264 network camera include support for Power of Ethernet (PoE), auto-iris control, and Ultra Forensic Zooming which allows users to zoom in on recorded video while simultaneously viewing the complete picture.
