WiLife camera system alerts homeowner of break-in
A homeowner in Palm Bay, Fla. was able to capture clear video of thieves on his property thanks to a recently installed WiLife camera system. John Jellesma bought the system for under $300 after his home was robbed two weeks ago. It didn't take long for the camera system to show its worth, as the plunderers returned again a few days later. Only this time, the home surveillance system caught them in all their glory.
The WiLife system operates using motion detection. In this case, once the thieves entered the camera's field of view, it immediately started recording. An email alert was then automatically sent to Jellesma, notifying him of the potential threat. Included in the email was a video clip of the intruders. That was all the motivation Jellesma needed to call police. While they were unable to capture the crooks on the spot, they now possess high-quality video footage of the crime as it happened, and are confident that the suspects' identities will be revealed.
This incident provides us with a prime, real-life example of the WiLife video security system in action.
