Axis unveils vandal-proof 212 PTZ-V Network Camera
Network camera leader Axis Communications announced today a new network camera that combines instant, wide-area pant/tilt/zoom functionality with vandal-proof housing. The Axis 212 PTZ-V Network Camera features a rugged metal base and a durable transparent cover to protect against tampering and vandalism. It's intended to be used in locations such as banks, schools, retail shops, lobbies, and other areas that would benefit from wide-area monitoring.
The camera's one-click, pan/tilt/zoom control enables users to instantly zero in on suspicious activity from remote locations. Other highlights include a 3 megapixel center, wide angle lens, and VGA resolution which ensures that video quality will remain consistent in overview shots as well as close-ups. The Axis 212 PTZ-V also includes a variety of security features such as HTTPS encryption, multiple user access levels, IEEE 802.1X, and IP address filtering for secure network operation and configuration.
