Choctaw Nation goes all in with casino network cameras
Looking to meet the heightened security demands caused by the rapid growth of its three casinos, the Choctaw Nation has equipped its gaming facilities with over 300 Axis network cameras. The move to IP-based surveillance was prompted by an increase in casino foot traffic that warranted more comprehensive surveillance coverage. Also, it was determined that installation and maintenance of the network cameras would be easier than it would be with analog CCTV equipment.
Axis network cameras will monitor gaming floors, high-stakes poker tables, and slot machines throughout the Durant, Broken Bow and Pocola casino locations. The network-based surveillance system offers Choctaw Nation a host of benefits in the way its casinos will be monitored. The cameras operate using power over Ethernet (PoE) so power outlets aren't required at camera locations. Additionally, while casinos present variances in light that could easily render improperly exposed video footage useless, the Axis network cameras chosen by the Choctaw Nation are designed to handle such conditions with cutting-edge features like automatic iris control. Iris control allows the iris aperture to adjust in order to maintain the optimal light level for the camera's image sensor. This enables the cameras to collect high quality video images despite the challenging lighting conditions of the casino environment. Other notable benefits include remote video monitoring, and limitless digital storage.
