Surveillance video used in exploding backpack investigation

One man was killed and another injured this morning at a Las Vegas hotel after a backpack exploded in a parking garage. The Luxor Hotel, known for its distinctive pyramid-shaped hotel and casino, suffered little to no damage after the explosion, which happened at around 4 AM Monday.

Las Vegas Police and federal officials from the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are treating the explosion as a homicide, and are unaware of the cause. Video surveillance from both the air and parking garage security cameras has already been used to investigate possible structural damage to the facilities, and will most likely be instrumental in further investigations to reveal the motives behind the crime and possibly the perpetrator.
